The Trustees and Committee Members of the Roy Anthony Reid Foundation express their heart felt appreciation and thanks to everyone who supported its third Annual Awards and Celebration Evening, which took place earlier this month.
The Tally Ho Conference and Banqueting Centre in Edgbaston, Birmingham was filled to capacity on Saturday 6th July 2019 as guests from across the UK were treated to an uplifting and inspiring evening of recognition, celebration, performance and praise.
As a youth-focused Charitable Trust, it was particularly pleasing to witness amazing performances from Eloquent Praise & Empowerment Dance Company’s ‘mini-movers’ and the LYT Gospel Group. Guests were also treated to a tasty two-course Caribbean Meal, followed by fundraising raffle that offered a range of excellent prizes including £100 cash, LCD TV/DVD combi and 18 carat gold jewellery.
Our Patron and well-known DJ, Hector Pinkney M.B.E. then took to the decks to ensure all could dance the night away, bringing proceedings to a close into the early hours.
We have included a selection of pictures to give you a flavour of the event, but nothing beats actually being there. For those who missed out, please make sure you watch this space for future announcements and get in first for next year’s event scheduled for July 2020 (date to be confirmed).
Our next event – Caribbean Cultural Day – will take place on Saturday 19th October 2019, 11am – 5.30pm at the All Saints Centre, Kings Heath, Birmingham. The event is free to attend. Join us for a feast of cultures including music, poetry, African drumming, food stalls, jewellery, health products and an exhibition celebrating Black History Month.
